Elin Williams

Elin Williams is a Lecturer in FinTech Law at Edge Hill University (School of Law, Criminology and Policing), developing and teaching modules relating to finance, technology and crime. Prior to this, she served as an Associate Tutor in Law (Edge Hill University) and University Teacher in Law (University of Liverpool).
Elin is currently completing a PhD in Law on the challenges of regulating cryptocurrency-based money laundering, at the University of Liverpool. More broadly, Elin’s research interests include Commercial and Banking Law, Financial Crime (particularly Money Laundering) as well as Cryptocurrency and Dark Web regulation.
Elin has presented her research at several institutions, including the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Amsterdam Law and Technology Institute), Liverpool John Moores University (School of Computer Science and Mathematics) and the University of Liverpool (School of Law and Social Justice). More widely, Elin has assisted with the organisation of conferences for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, Partnership for Conflict, Crime and Security (University of Cambridge) and the University of Liverpool.
